AI in capital raising

How can I use AI to raise capital?

Short answer

I use AI to help my team work faster, analyze information, improve educational content, and make better-informed decisions. I don't view AI as a substitute for building trust with investors. It is a tool that can help you prepare more effectively, review complex materials, and improve productivity. The important thing is to combine AI with human judgment rather than blindly accepting everything it produces.

Checklist

  • Use AI to brainstorm educational topics relevant to investors.
  • Review lengthy documents and identify questions worth investigating.
  • Compare information across multiple documents or datasets.
  • Improve the clarity of presentations and educational materials.
  • Explore specialized AI tools for different tasks.
  • Use AI-assisted video production where appropriate.
  • Verify important outputs before sharing them with investors.
  • Keep relationship-building and final decisions under human control.

From my talks

"And we're going to show today how you can use AI to make decisions faster, with greater confidence and conviction, and just make more well -rounded decisions that are sound and based off of fact without blindly relying upon AI."

One example I shared involved an 89-page inspection report for a waterfront property in Hawaii. We asked AI to identify potentially expensive issues that the inspection professional had not highlighted in the summary. It identified additional areas worth investigating.

We also used AI to develop speaking topics for an event. We provided speaker backgrounds, reviewed the suggested topics, selected the strongest ideas, and refined them.

That is how I think about AI for capital raising: it helps people prepare, learn, and communicate more effectively, but the human still needs to make the decisions.
