How much should I raise? Calculator

Most people raise too little and end up back on the road six months later. Put in your real numbers and see what a full runway costs.

Results appear here as you type.

How the calculation works

For each month of the runway, the calculator grows your revenue by the monthly growth rate and adds any month where costs are higher than revenue to the operating shortfall. It adds your one-time costs, applies the safety buffer and subtracts the cash you already have. The result is rounded up to the nearest $50,000 and is never negative.

Raise for the plan plus a buffer, not for the best case. Running out of cash in the middle of a raise puts you in the weakest seat at the table.
